This fresh focus follows organizational reforms at the state-funded body, including the resignation of its former chief executive last month after both staff concerns and official demands for strategic overhaul.

The fresh initiative comes amid increasing worry about Britain's vulnerability to internet outages and cyber-attacks.
Recent incidents have highlighted these vulnerabilities, including a major outage affecting international online platforms and latest online threats that halted manufacturing at key facilities and logistics systems across multiple companies.
Leadership and Oversight
A ex-military leader of the Britain's aerial defense command will report back next month on how the government-funded institute can optimally help the extent of national AI objectives in defense, homeland protection and intelligence.
Operational Restructuring
The center's head, a former Amazon UK boss, confirmed that 78 different research projects at the 440-staff institute have been terminated, spun out or finished because they aren't consistent with the revised strategy.
Organizational Difficulties
The institute has faced organizational challenges since last year as employees objected against restructuring, culminating in a group of employees registering an official concern to the appropriate oversight organization.
