The Soldiers Table Unveiled
Episode 3 concluded with a dramatic pause and presented the first table of heroes who will split off from the primary party to begin their separate journey, distinct from the remaining groups.
This warrior group includes the determined fighter (played by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (the cast member), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
With an extensive roster, it was clear from the beginning that having everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
That’s why, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Prelude, intertwining the personal journeys before branching into three separate parties: Warriors, Strategists, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
As described by the DM, the warrior group is for participants who enjoy a classically intense battle-oriented story mode where diplomatic options are few and far between.
At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might look unsuited, but the events of the latest installment demonstrate why these specific adventurers are best suited for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
First, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a intense opening clash with the antagonists.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose passing initiated the campaign’s events—exploited the enemy for his selfish purposes, invading the hidden lair, attacking the character, and taking all the powerful objects to dispose of.
Casimir then cleared his liabilities and ran away to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the urban center, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each adventurer has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as the close ally and trusted friend, seeks revenge.
- Kattigan knows Timmony and warns that it is a hostile location.
- The strong character and The healer, having resisted his relatives’ demands to kill Teor and instead freed him, have no other options.
- Yet, their status as key figures in House Halovar could enable the team enter locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The fighter swore a unbreakable promise to The savior for his salvation and will now accompany him wherever.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the powers that control Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The cleric defied the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This results in them few options but to head to the remote area in search of Casimir.
Future Episodes
