Soccer Expert Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions

Arsenal's ten-match winning run was ended by Sunderland prior to the international hiatus, however will the English top division frontrunners recover against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of guests.

For week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

Murs' latest album, the new release, is available on Friday.

Soccer and Parenting Life

Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not intending a serious comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity game the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "My team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."

Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.

"I will not force football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their weekend football team," he said.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a while too.

"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our team for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their offense is already stronger with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this fixture will be quite tight, though. The Clarets are well organised and their sole home defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

It suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple matches - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, the Hammers secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' only on the road victory this campaign came at Forest in August, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - will it be the Hammers extending their streak under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?

I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I think what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign began, but they have impressed a few people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their past four matches.

A family member advised me to select Bees forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.

They have not had much fortune on the travel this season, and Brighton are always strong at home. Brentford will try to attack on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a danger.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

The singer's view: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually turns out to be quite close. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six games.

They have got lots of quality in their team but it still feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.

Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.

Their performance in the two-all draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not seen anyone else rough up the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing would be to back the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of October.

However I am not going to choose that. Instead, I truly need to continue opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.

Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the only side they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be extremely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

The guest's choice: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a poor run... but they have still been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard fixture to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but might they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
